ABOUT THE ROLE

If you revel in storytelling with words, photos and videos on social media, then we want you to show us what you've got. The Social Media Specialist is someone who can create engaging, performance-based content on social media, blogs and other digital platforms. The successful candidate will be creative and resourceful and have the skills to execute ideas. The Social Media Specialist will create compelling storytelling visual and written digital content based on data insights, background research, and a thorough understanding of client needs and objectives. This role will report to the CEO and work alongside our Graphic Designers, Project Coordinator, and Content Creators.

RESPONSIBILITIES

There are 3 elements to this role: Content Planning, Content Creation and Reporting, and Community Engagement:

Content Planning and Reporting

  • Prepare an organized monthly content calendar for each Client account that reflects your understanding of the client's strategy and business objectives.

  • Storyboard digital content for short videos and static posts based on defined KPIs.

  • Analyze performance statistics on a weekly and monthly basis so you can recommend what’s working and what’s not to refine our client content strategies.

  • Monthly report with performance indicators and your recommendations for each Client.

Content Creation

  • Storyboard and film short videos for digital and social media channels both for our owned brands and client accounts. Channels include but are not limited to TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Little Red Book, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube.

  • Copywriting for social media content with content and hashtags tailored for each platform.

  • Long-form content creation for blogs and articles on websites and LinkedIn.

  • Sourcing user-generated content online for reposting/sharing.

  • Maintaining all client and team assets in an organized manner.

  • Plan and create engaging social and digital content to achieve client marketing goals.

Community Engagement

  • Setting and achieving community engagement and growth KPIs/metrics for each Client account.

  • Driving engagement and followers by proactively interacting with the online community. This includes responding to DMs and comments on the account.

  • Monitoring Client social accounts on a daily basis and reporting issues to your manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant post-secondary education with 3+ years of full-time experience (ideally at an agency) performing the 3 responsibilities outlined above.

  • Language Skills: Native English fluency is required. Fluency in written and verbal Mandarin Chinese is an asset.

  • A portfolio or link to your sample work where you have applied social media content creation and editing tools, such as Iconosquare, Hootsuite, Later, Linktree, Canva and Capcut.

  • Your resume clearly illustrates that you have created engaging content supported by numbers.
